Explain Everything
This is a fantastic all in one app where students and teachers can design presentations. The first tutorial is a good starting point - a 'no frills' version that teaches you the basics.
The following tutorial is more in depth.
The possibilities are infinite. To start off you could have your students learn how to learn how to use the app. Show them the video from the site, have them play around with it. Do comment on this blog post with your fabulous use of the application!
Prezi for Ipad
Prezi is a student favorite and it has a nice slide - show transition from one 'circle' to another. With this app you can have all the basic Prezi functions. You do need an account with Prezi in order to use the app and you cannot set up an account on an ipad. The following video will show you how to make a Prezi online. The second video will show you the app and upon comparison, you will see the limitations for the app. One cool thing about Prezi is that students can collaborate on a Prezi using separate devices.

Educreations - Interactive Whiteboard
This whiteboard presentation app might be more suited for the younger students compared to Explain Everything and Prezi. Its interface is easier to navigate. You can do many of the same basic functions as the Explain Everything app such as record your audio, write and draw, insert photos, write and draw on top of the photos, and use multiple pages. A teacher can also set up an account online and have students answer questions, having students then send their Educreations responses to your account for you to view and assess. The one part I don't like about this whiteboard is that once you finish and save, you cannot edit. A great part about the app is that you can choose lined or graph paper background, or grid with cartesian planes for math. I did notice though that you cannot make straight lines, only freehand drawings. There is however a text function or students can write freehand.
