A place to get started on your research for your project. You could also just 'google' Junk Art and see what you can find. There is an incredible amount of junk art and some rather impressive. I tried to collect a variety of ideas, from 2-D to 3-D works, practical, abstract and realistic.

I thought one could use either a drawing, enlarged using the grid method, or perhaps a large print or copy. Glued onto canvas or corrugated paper/plastic, the junk could then be glued on top.

A collection of luxury vehicles sculpted from old metal parts
A couple of great ideas at the site where I found this image. Abstract wall art made of a combination of rolled up old magazines and an arrangement of caps and lids!
If you click on the image you will also find a simpler wall art using a black sharpie marker and a variety of shiny magazine paper.
Love this site for art projects and crafts using old magazines.
